Thursday, 12/20/07: Disheartening news

Many of you know that our older daughter, Lauren, is pregnant, due at the very end of March with her first child. Today, we learned that the baby, a boy, may have some severe development issues, and his life may be short if he makes it to term. Although we are very saddened by this news, all of us know that often ultrasounds are not the whole story and are even incorrect. She will have an amniocentesis tomorrow morning, but the results will not be back for two weeks. We are not even sure exactly what that procedure will tell us at this point. We would like to ask for prayer for our daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Dan, and for little Jace. Pray for Lauren and Jace’s safety tomorrow during and after the amniocentesis procedure and for Jace’s healing. Pray that we all walk in faith and remain strong knowing that all occurrences are for God’s glory. We know God is in control. Lauren and Dan are walking in faith, but this news is very hard to digest; they are being remarkably strong. Praise God. Thank you for praying with us.

Blessings,

Kathy and Barry Hart
